How do I make two printed gears mesh?
Give both gears the same module. Their center distance is module × (teeth₁ + teeth₂) ÷ 2, so a module 2 gear with 20 teeth and one with 30 teeth sit 50 mm apart.
What module should I use for 3D printed gears?
Module 1.5–3 prints reliably on a 0.4 mm nozzle. Smaller modules give finer teeth but need a smaller nozzle and slower printing.
How do I fit the gear on a shaft?
Set the bore to the shaft diameter plus about 0.2–0.3 mm clearance for a sliding fit, or exactly the shaft size for a press fit.
