How long should the snap beam be?

Longer, thinner beams bend more easily. For PLA keep the beam at least 5–8× its thickness to avoid cracking.

Which filament is best for snap fits?

PETG and ABS/ASA flex more before breaking than PLA, so they survive repeated snapping.
